There is the old, true saying. Talk is cheap. ANYBODY can say the words. A better way is to say "I love you" by your actions. Does your spouse hate cold? They'll know you love- If you go out and scrape ice off the windshield. Or, if he HATES dishes, but does them anyway- that says I love you. Does the spouse put up with the stupidest, most opinionated idiot their spouse is related to? Again, I love you. Basically, when a spouse cares enough to think of things to do that make the mate happy, or save them work, their actions are saying, You matter, and I care about you.

the words "I love you" do not have the meaning they once did because people through them around so easily any more. A my husband and I say all the time it is the little things that add up to so much more. Put a Love letter in his lunch, when he gets home from work have the lights out candles burning and a bath drawn for the to or you. wash him, look into his eyes while you make love. there are just so many was to show that you love him without having to say a word. you know your husband so do the little things that mean the most to him. It will only make you relationship that much stronger.

A friend once told me how much he loved me by buying me a very cosy pair of socks... odd but true none the less..
My partner tells me he loves me by not making a fuss about how long I run the heater during winter, even though we don't have much money to spare, he knows how horribly I hate the cold.
He also tells me he loves me when he holds me and says. "Mmm big ****, big thighs, mmmm what a woman."
he tells me he loves me when he asks me to go to the pub and then sits with me and talks about his day.
there are millions of ways to say I love you..

On an episode of Sex and the City this guy ordered a giant cookie from a bakery and he gave to Miranda and when she opened it.. it said "I LOVE YOU" in big letters with red icing..
That was kind of cute..

Its better when you DO it, you can say it a million ways but if your actions don't reflect it then its totally meaningless anyway. So don't worry about the words, live it, be it and you will be fine.

I think just saying "I love you" is enough, too many poetic and big words won't sound genuine all the time.

Bake some heart shaped cookies. Serve one at a time. One says, "I", next, "LOVE", next" YOU".
