nothing but my appreciation.
The real question is, "What's your most treasured material possession, and why?"
Please don't say "my wife" or other people - they're not possessions!
I want to get a glimpse of what it is that people really value.

The answers are all really good. I have no idea how I'm going to choose best answer. You might get a message from me personally if I like what you have to say instead.

Even though I'm not really that materialistic,I would have to say some of my old Christmas decorations. They remind me of a time when all my family(including Grandparents) would come together to enjoy the love we had for each other. The feeling of being safe, warm and loved as a child is one of the best feelings in the world.I believe John Williams(the Composer) in the song,"Somewhere In My Memory" called it,"that gingerbread feeling".
Christmas is a special time for me,full of laughter, friendship and love.

How about 10 Points for best answer? My most precious possession is a Pink Ape Named Bogey when everyone else was getting cabbage patch Kids back in the 80's I got this ape. I had him for years and when I was 17 the little boy that I was babysitting was afraid of Monsters in his closet. I gave him Bogey to protect him and it worked Children aid came and got the child a little while later.and Bogey went with him. a few years ago I was in a trift store and I found him or another copy of him and bought him. When my family came to visit there was a weird celebration over his return. My children know the story of Bogey's heroism and life and value

My necklace well chain anyway.
My wife bought it for me one christmas and at the same time I bought a close friend one too. It's not expensive or anything but my friend who lives a long way away has been extemely ill recently and the one chance I had to see him in hospital he'd been given two months to live. When i got there what was the one personal possession he refused to be without even during surgery? The chain.
It's not the material possesions that are important but the meaning and symbolism we attatch to them.
Feel sorry for any one who answers "my big f!&^$ng tele!"

That's a cool question - makes me think......
I don't think I could pick one thing though......would have to be my books as there are just so many memories tied up in them - books I remember my dad reading to me when I was a kid, ones that really struck me when I read them as a teenager that I've kept ever since, ones that make me laugh when I'm down and even some that make me cry. My books are very special to me =) (Self confessed bookworm!! Haha!)
Another possession that I treasure very much is my old panda toy - I've had him since I can remember and we've been through a lot together!! =D Haha!!

I have a book, it was given to me by my mother's hypnotherapyst for nothing but it is worth a fair bit, it's all about the witch trials within England. I love all my books, but that one is my most treasured because not only is it the most expensive but also because it is the most interesting, and it is not one of the mass produced ones like all the rest.

I'm not really a possession person...I have my grandmothers engagement ring which she gave to me the night she passed away. That has great sentimental value and I suppose you could call it a possession. It'll never really be mine. I'm just the caretaker....

my car - its an old beat up vauxhall cavalier but its my ticket to independance and freedom as where i live there is limited public transport which would cost me more money if i want to take the kids on a trip into town. Otherwise i would be stuck in the house.

A china girl playing a china piano. I'm 45 and my gran bought it for me on my 13th birthday. At the time I thought, "What on earth has she bought me this for" (I never said anything, just thanked her) but as I've grown older I've realised she thought it was lovely and wanted me to have something nice because she loved me. I treasure it.
