As ever, the solution is in the operation of the car. The oil pan on a Civic is transverse in the front of the car. It is very vulnerable in this location. Steel has a tendency to bend when hit. Aluminum will fracture. If your car is lowered, used anywhere off the pavement, or on gravel/rock etc, go with the steel. If you will never be in those conditions and want the looks and the cooling quality of aluminum, then choose that material.

Aluminum is better but when you seal it you have to use silicone. The excess silicone tends to come loose inside and it may clog up the pickup screen on the oil pump. That can be fixed by flushing the engine with deisel fuel, so I would lean towards the aluminum because it transfers heat better.

an oil pan made of rice is the best bet for your goook car.

alum , is better it doesnt rust and stays cooler
