People are naturally bad from birth. It takes parental training and effort to do right from a young age. Think about it. When you see two toddlers playing what inevitably happens. They start fighting over a toy or something. They are naturally selfish. Then they will lie about it. They did not have to be taught how to lie. It comes naturally. People naturally do what feels good which often negatively affects others.
We do what feels good and we don't care about what makes others feel good. This is what makes it so hard to do right. It is easy to try to satisfy our wants and desires, but hard to want to satisfy others.
Some people who do not believe in absolute truth or absolute right and wrong will tell you to do what "feels right". That is a foolish way to decide morality. That would be purely subjective and would cause far more confusion. If we think selfishly as I believe we naturally do. Then how could our "feelings" be a good indicator of the truth? That would be absurd.

Actually, it's a trick. Good is only hard if you let yourself desire evil. Evil only seems easy on the surface but gets complicated over time.
Example.
Child gets a bad report card but tells his parents up front about it.
Parents assign a minor punishment but more work with the child and the teachers on how to rectify the problem and from there the child grows and learns more.
Same Child gets the same bad report card but hides it, fakes his parents signature and turns it back into the school. Child doesn't get in trouble and for the moment everything looks fine. Later, the teacher contacts the parents directly to more formally discuss the issue. The teacher identifies that they were notified about a month ago about the problem and by the way here is the paper you signed showing that you understood what was going on. It comes out that the child had forged the signature and that the parents never saw the information. The child is now in a huge amount of trouble, the parents no longer trust the child and the child has an even harder time getting caught back up in school.
Just one example but you get the idea. Of course there are always examples where people get away with horribile things but in the long run eventually something is always going to go wrong. And if you are a believer then even if that person gets away with it their entire life then there is at least a final judgement. Better to have gotten things out of the way and cleaned up before then in my thinking.
Best of Luck

What are you talking about? Okay first off, I don't really believe in a good, bad, black or white sort of thing. But I will tell you this: Religion makes a big deal out of really small things. It labels reproducing 'evil', when really it's not 'evil', we're supposed to do it. But at the ame time, for a certain group of people, this law is good. Why? Because, it teaches those sort of people to never end up with aborted children, or doing anything that they wish they hadn't done later on. So, this is what i say: Live by what feels right on the inside, not what somebody has TOLD you is right. Your instinct of good and evil is the best judgement. Everybody has their own paths.

Self Control God gives us a freedom and free will ad we are his children and he wants us to make choices for ourselves. The Devil does not want to go to HELL alone so he makes all the bad stuff look so good and so easy. Its like putting a chocolate cake in front of children and telling them not to touch it. YOU see the temptation of Eve by the snake to Adam. All those other trees
YOU know at church we actually got into a argument about why put the tree in the middle of the garden in the first place knowing that You Cant Eat JUST One of those other apples. I heard a nun put a sign on the apples and said Just TAKE One GOD IS WATCHING. Well a child put out a plate of chocolate chip cookies and said take all you want because God is watching the apples.

Because we were born with an Adam~nature, which is a nature to sin and do wrong (Ps.51:5) This is why Jesus died for us so that He could redeem us from a sinful life (Rom.3:23-24). He also gave us the gift of the Holy Ghost, which is the Power of God living on the inside of you that helps you to live a life free and separate from sin. You will constantly be tempted by one thing or another, but your love for God and the power of the Holy Ghost will keep you in your hour of temptation (Rev. 3:10, Jude 24).
Hope that this helps you.

To be good is to think of others over yourself. Since it's human nature to put yourself to do the opposite, which is to think for yourself over people, then it becomes obvous why it is hard to be good.
And morality is definitely a factor in human decisions. Some people may find it harder to be good than others. It depends on what morals you were raised with.
There is still some good in this world. Don't doubt that. It's a lot easier to see the bad things in life than the good.

Evil is a judgment placed on irrational behavior. Unless you live in the land of the fairies and the pixies or have a faith based belief system everything can be explained. Just because the reasons are not immediately apparent doesn't mean they aren't there.
Things don't change that much, it just seems like it when you're young because you're changing so fast.

Everyday people are faced with moral challenges / temptations. One day you do good. The next you are drowning a puppy so to speak. It is human nature. Everyday is a struggle. For everyone.

Because we are natural sinners. Think of some of the greatest evils: glutany, selfishness, lust, revenge, the list goes on, but these evils are things that bring ourselves pleasure, it's temptation at it's finest. And temptation can be hard to resist, and that's why it is easy to do evil, because it's for a selfish purpose. With good, it's selfless, you do things for others, you do what's right, this is less attractive because it offers no tangible benefit to yourself.

It's because you are zeroing in on only one aspect of "good" and "evil" and that is the avoidance of temptation. Most societies have rules requiring the forgoing of instant pleasure in return for future reward. Or rules that ask you to place the needs of the group before your individual needs. Or to place your own future needs ahead of the present ones.
These are all hard rules to follow when the future is uncertain and you can smell and taste the present.
