if you're trying to get a fledgling label off the ground you'd be best off to hire someone with a proven track record, like an artist from Europe who doesn't have a U.S, Deal like, Ms Dynamite also Sinead O'connor doesn't have a U.S. deal right now. The best unsigned Artist is my Area right now is a Guy named Jesse Chong, I caught like the last 4 songs of his set about a month ago, he had this psychedelicelectricfolkmountainblues thing going on his band was smoking Hot. I live in Virginia Beach Va we've got a real diverse scene hear Pharell Williams & Darius Rucker live here as does Teddy Riley, right up the road you got David Lowery from Kracker & Campervan beethoven Bruce Hornsby ,Missy Eliott ,Everybody and their brother comes through to work with The Neptunes, Justin Timberlake, Snoop ,Gwen Stafani, In the northern part of the state you got Ralph Stanley and The Carter Family.(What's left of them) Any way hire me for A&R I'll get you there,or sign Jessie Chong ,...for instant Megga Success sign Ms Dynamite she's in the U.K.
Also there's this really young punky girl band called Mowbray Arch I heard 2 of Their tracks that were really hot...but they're teens.

My favourite local band, A papercut heartache, broke up because one of them went to college in Illinois. My second favourite is Never Silenced ( http://www.neversilenced.tk )

I only know one band that lives in my city, but I've never heard them. They're called The Natalie Fight. I'll be seeing them at Dirtfest, so hopefully they're good.
