I have a broken brake light lens and don't want to buy a new housing unit so I'm thinking about buying a taillight repair kit from JC Whitney. Do these things work as good as they claim?

The answer is no, they don't. They are a waste of money. They allow moisture, etc inside the lens, which will cause the bulbs to pop. Go to your local salvage yard and pick up a used housing...it will be far cheaper than a new one. Clean it up, install it, and you're good to go.

Hope this helped.

Apparently they do, I have never used it - all of my cars are old enough that I just change the bulb, but my friend says that the kits work fine.
