It matters to me. If and when I do get engaged, I want to give the lucky lady a nice ring, even if that kind of thing doesn't matter to her. I plan on it being the only engagement ring she ever receives, and I want her to remember it and cherish it forever.

I am partial to have a diamond I have a lot of rings because my BF is a Bling kinda guy. My hands are small and my diamond is big but it looks small because of how it is set. To suit my Finger I would rather not have a Non Diamond for an engagment ring for anything else I would not care really

Yes I do care on both the size and if its real. I would not want a fake engagement ring. I dont think that even needs to be explained. As far as the size goes I would not want anything small. Men save up to buy all sorts of expensive things for themselves so I feel if they care for you they will do the same for the ring. Like it or not people pass judgment on him, on you and on your relationship as soon as they lay their eyes on the rock. I have seen girls get rings so small that you couldn't even tell there was a diamond there. I'm sorry but if a guy is ok with giving that ring to a girl he is not the guy for me to begin with.

a appropriate a million/3 carat is more effective valuable than a a million carat with flaws. that's more effective tasteful and does not appear like cubic zirconium. We bought the most important "appropriate" stone lets have adequate money round that a million/3 carat length. The ignorant comments about length are some distance more effective rare than the comments by technique of jewelers who sparkling and examine the placing and let us know that's a very effective stone. humorous that folk who comprehend diamonds furnish to purchase it if we are ever interested in promoting. a sturdy sparkling diamond contained in the photo voltaic seems a lot higher than a cloudy one no remember the dimensions.

I do not even care if it is a diamond. I think what is in the heart is more precious than any stone. I would rather have a guy love me and cherish me than give me anything like that. I would be just as happy with a piece of string that he tied around my finger than a big diamond.

If a man gives a woman an engagement ring she should feel honored and not pull a jeweler's loupe out of her pocket.

Personally, with synthetics looking just as good as naturals, I don't see any reason to pay a big price for a natural. I'd rather use the money as a down payment on a house or a car.

I'm shallow. I want (and got) a huge rock that's absolutely beautiful and years later, I'm still thrilled to see it. That's so much better than my friends who said the little diamond was okay, then they ended up "trading up" within 5 years. Get what you like (if you can afford it). At least I know that my ring is the ring that my husband put on my finger in front of God and everyone on our wedding day.

When I first got married, I didn't care. We were both young (18) and I was still in college. Later on, YES, I totally expected the big ring, and I got it. And yes, it being diamond was a MUST.

Thank God I was able to pick out my own! But hey, if you have a man that worships you, who cares what size the diamond is.?? I was blessed to get a decent man and a nice sized rock. Maybe in a few years you can upgrade :)

Ask your girl, everyone is different. I know my grandmother wore a gold band that was her wedding ring. She was married many, many years. Myself, a diamond means love.
