what would you do (at a large scale) to save the world?

There are so many ideas I've had... Become a politician,and change policy, join an aid organization and do what I can for the poor and war-torn, chain myself to a tree or an SUV, start a new religion named tolerance or understanding, start an organization that advocates for world issues, lock up a certain world leader or two, remove guns from the hands of children, bury all the gold back from where it came (Got that one from More's Utopia), expose conspiracies (if only people would listen), somehow convince the world to lock away their guns and throw away the key... the list goes on. I'm so overwhelmed all I can do is go to work, eat and sleep.

The world is not in peril. Humanity, and most of the species we share the world with, however, are in a lot of trouble. Still, from what we can discern, there have been plenty of mass extinctions in the past. The dominant life forms on this planet are, and always have been, bacteria and blue/green algae. "The rest of us are just along for the ride."

you've no idea how frustrating it is to have a plan i think is practical, that everyone already agrees with, that is free, involves little work, that benefits absolutely everyone enormously, that involves no social struggle or danger, no organisation or group or meetings, no believing, no selfsacrifice, pays every man woman and child US$20,000 more a year, capitalist, private-property, true free-market, individualist, prevents extinction soon and stops almost all war and crime, and tyranny and slavery forever, and solves millions of problems, and does a lot of other good things
