It means I will worry about his happiness and he about mine until the day one of us dies. If I can't do enough for him and he can't do enough for me, that equals happiness in our marriage. My husband and I ARE very happy.

It all depends on each individual how you feel about it.

I was married once and will never do it again! To me that little piece of paper makes things worse.

Love, Respect, Fidelity, Friendship, A commitment to work on all of the above regularly, you can have all this without being married.

I am with a guy I met through yahoo over 7 years ago. Do I love him? Yes, more than words can say, but I will never marry him. We both agreed to that from the start. It is just a preference. So do not base your own feelings about it on what anyone else says.

It has it's good and bad points. For me it is not good, for you it might be the best thing in the world.

marriage is a bond between two people that should not be taken lightly. I think now days marriage is looked at like a joke, and people do it just because it is convent. I think that divorce is way to easy, and is abused. If you are not going to divot you true whole self to that person and nobody else then why get married. You should deeply love that person take the vows seriously... For Better or Worse, till death do us part...

Marriage to me means giving yourself 100% to another person. When you take those vows, you're basically signing a contract of love, and you are both responsible for one another. Marriage is a scared union, and anyone who isn't ready to make that committment shouldn't rush into it.

1) Love
2) Respect
3) Fidelity (a corollary to number 2)
4) Friendship
5) A commitment to work on all of the above regularly.

I didn't mention sex because I think that great sex will come from all of the above.
