Well if they failed once it means that they know what NOT to do.
Still doesn't mean that they know what to do.
I am a boilermaker and we had a man that was doing something wrong and I mentioned it.
He replied, "I have been doing this for over 20 years."
So I said to him. "You've been doing wrong for that long?"
He eventually got layed off because he screwed up to much.

I think anytime you fail you're better for it. Life is a series of accomplishments and failures, but how many times did the failure precede the accomplishment? More times than I am willing to count I bet. Never be afraid to fail, it leads to your accomplishments.
