I'm not a Simpsons hater. I absolutely loved the show back when it was done well. But the quality of the show has slipped. Seriously, compare last season's episodes to some of those in the early seasons. Homer is now a Peter (Family Guy) clone. While Bart was once a rebel with a heart of gold, he now has absolutely no redeeming qualities about him. The latest seasons are starting to ruin my memories of this once classic series.

i was gonna suggest jumptheshark.com also. In my personal opinion it jumped the shark when bart was in a boy band. that was a horrible episode. I havent watched new simpsons episodes for the last 2 seasons. I would rather enjoy the classic Simpsons re-runs than have to watch the new ones and be disgusted by them

My opinion, the quality hasn't slipped a bit. In fact, it's gotten better. Now, I may be a simple moron, but I enjoy the off the wall antics of the Simpsons. Family Guy is a great show as well. Any show that can make fun of it's self, other shows, or it's host network deserves praise. I hope the Simpsons will be on for many more years and I will be there to watch every show.

It truly depends on who is writing the episode. I agree that there have been some horrible epsiodes lately, but then there have been a few with redeeming (and funny) qualities. I have noticed that the humor is a lot more slapstick, which I don't like. Lots of gross out jokes (blood, throw-up) and less intellectual humor. They should not cancel the show but they should get back some of the writers from earlier seasons.

I don't think they should stop the series, just hire some new writers. I think the show was good until about 2000.

Your opinion is is fine, but the series is still going strong, and with the movie coming this year, it will continue to prosper. Millions of others enjoy it, as do I, so next question, please.

you bring up a good point, and i'll agree its gotten crazy, but ppl still watch...but i do think malcom in the middle did one season too many
