Pretty much anything goes. Daytime - shorts and a shirt are fine. Sneakers, sandals or some other comfy shoe is a MUST.
Nighttime - depends on where you're going. Some restaurants, actually most that are anything above the buffet, cafe, or food court - prefer you to dress a little better. Not black tie, but nice pants or a skirt and top. I use the price rule - the more expensive it is, the better I dress. For example - dinner at Prime at Bellagio requires a nice dress. Dinner at AJs in the Hard Rock, nice pants and a top will work. No sneakers!! Most shows prefer you to not wear regular jeans or shorts and sneakers to them, but you don't really need to dress up.
BTW- if you're using the pool at your hotel, it's not a good plan to walk thru the hotel in your bathing suit - bring some kind of coverup to wear. The hotels prefer it.
Good luck! Have a great time!!

If you are going to a club at night, then dress up more. Otherwise just dress like you do any day! You know, cool inside, HOT outside! When i'm there, for some reason, i freeze in the air conditioning so i have a sweater with me in the summer! It's really very casual in all the casino's.

laid back during the day- shorts, t-shirts- flip flops. At night its glamorous for the women, guys are usually ok in nice shoes, a dress shirt, and nice jeans or slacks. If you know some clubs that you would like to go to a lot have photo galleries of their previous nights and you can see what people are wearing. Try the site below.

What are you doing in vegas? 8 girls in our thirties are heading there this weekend too -- all friends from HS. We will be wearing our pool side attire at Mandaley Bay during the day and getting a little fancier (mainly a sexy top) to go out in the evening.

As a rule.
Casual during the day.
Some require tie and jacket at night call the places you wish to enjoy.
Some places would keep ties and jacket to accommodate the guests rather than turn them away.

You can dress however you want. Use common sense, of course.
But if there's any place in America where money talks, it is Vegas. It doesn't matter what you wear if you are dripping in green.

It depends on where you are going.
Most places are casual but the high end restaurants do have a dress code.
