Sounds like he ate something with plenty of iron in it. If he has bleeding then he may have hemorroids but the stools will be black.
If it keeps up then he needs to get it checked.

It sometimes happens when you eat a lot of green vegetables.

"There can be many reasons why stool appears to be green. The first and most obvious reason is eating green foods. Green, leafy vegetables contain chlorophyll which could be coloring the stool green. Foods with dark purple coloring like Kool-Aid, popsicles, and gelatin (Jell-O) can also result in rainbow-colored stools. Iron supplements or even foods that are rich in iron can also give stool a green tinge.

Stool can also appear green for physical reasons, and not just from what you've been eating. We think of a healthy stool as being brown. Bile that is secreted in the first part of the small intestine is actually green. As stool is digested and passed through the large intestine it is turned into a darker brown color."

Don't worry, it's most probably because of some green food he ate. It takes a couple of days for the green stool to clear out of his system.

My friend and I had that and it turned out to be:
Giant size Triple-flavor Oceanwater Slushes we had both drank from the Sonic. Our stool was as green as the grass outside.

It was freakin' us out until I figured out what we had in common.

Vegetables have never turned my stoool green! I'm tired of talking about this...

Surprisingly, things that one ingests that aren't green can turn the feces green. One of the most common is grape Kool-Aid(seriously-I found this out when I was a poor student. My roommate noticed the same thing and by process of elimination[no pun intended], we discovered that it was Goofy Grape Kool Aid)

People who eat a lof of fiber, or who consume green foods tend to have green feces.
Has your Mom been serving a lot of green foods lately, or increased fiber? I wouldn't worry about it.
If he begins experiencing pain, or if there's blood in it, THEN consider seeing a Dr.
