I am 16 and am tired of the room i've hade since I was 12. I need cheap ideas. The quilt on my bed is yellow, blue, green, and purple - so I mainly need to work with those colors. I'm planning on painting my walls blue soon, and I have a painting of greece I am going to hang. Some problems are I have too many stuffed animals and lots of scattered beauty supplies. To help you out, here is a little about me: I love travel, I like art -drawing and painting, I have lots of pictures, and I play tennis. Any cool ideas for updating my room?

I got an awesome wicker three drawer set from Target, it was something like $20 and holds ALL my bath and beauty products (I'm a Body Works junkie). It stands about waist high....and doesn't take up a ton of space! Maybe get a fake pillar and make a small bedside table out of it--like the pillars at the Greek ruins. White bedsheets can easily be converted to curtains and have a fresh, clean look. Get some bamboo in a nice little vase/jar. Maybe get a trunk and put labels like you traveled everywhere and put your stuffed animals in it. Maybe get a stuffed macaw (tropical bird) and hang it in a cage in one corner of your room? You can get tons of cute storage containers at Target for your makeup and under bed boxes for the stuffed animals...make a collage of some of the pictures you have in a frame from Michaels and hang that on your wall!

I love the ideas!! Post pix when it's done!

I would start by 2-toning your walls in your room, using an ocean blue for 2 walls and 2 sky blues for the other 2 walls. Make each group of colors directly opposite of each other. You could then add a couple of plants to enhance the grean (like maybe a bonzi tree) and sunflowers to enhance the yellow. For curtains try find something similar to your pillow cases or just use yellow, and if you have a lamp, make the lamp shade match the window curtain if possible as well. With a little paint you can do some cool design on the lamp shade using colors that are similar to the quilt. If you have a hard wood floor, try finding a throw rug that also has similar color or colors to the rest of your room. Top everything off with a small little fish tank with some cheap fish and walla you have a greek beach theme going. Most of this stuff can be found relatively cheap at walmart or linen store. Good luck.

Your colors would work for a Zen Garden and the blue walls would be perfect because it's so relaxing. Get rid of the stuffed animals and keep the beauty products out of site. Invest in some soft pillows for the bed and floor. Buy some little bonsai plants. Make that room your sanctuary. Good Luck.
