I read a Gossip Girl novel by Cecily von Ziegesar called "Only In Your Dreams". In the novel, one of the characters read a book called "Siddhartha" that I am interested in reading. Who is the author of the book referred to in the novel I read?

Herman Hesse. It is at most libraries in the Classic session and the READ poster of Nick Cage has him holding that book. I used to be a librarian and I bought and posted that poster at the end of a long hall I had to walk everyday. Yep.

I think there's also a movie based on the book. I remember seeing it, but I don't recall the title.
