Hey Well Jimi Hendrix didi all that stuff without WHAMMY and All the stuff WE have today to make that distortion. So if he could do ALLLLLLLL of that in the 60's then think of what he could do now if he didn't kill himself?

Yeah Jimmy was the Sh!t... Hendrix was a freak of nature... the man was genius. He played a right handed guitar upside down and left handed… he could play with his teeth or behind his back and I think he only did that to challenge himself. He had a great ear and great improvisational style which opened the door for so many that followed.

With that said, there are many other fantastic guitar players.
Stevie Ray Vaughn was full of passion and raw energy (saw him a few times)
Clapton took the Stratocaster to the heavens
Joe Satriani, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Via.. all very good, but too much distortion and effects foe me (Loved ‘em when I was teen in the 80s though)
Mark Knafler flawless perfection and great ear.
Calos Santana is very soulful and always hits the right notes in the right places… I have some live stuff from Carlos that would blow you away.
Jimmy Page is fantastic as well. Extremely creative.
Duane Allman
Prince
Jerry Garcia (was mising a finger which I think allowed him to pick very well)
Jorma Kaukonen
Trey Anastasio
