yeah well, bugger that lot, they gave all the smart answers first. I'm off to answer your serious questions (assuming there are any...)

OK I'm back. Two answers:

(1) It's because your serious questions are haaaaaard and mostly about inter-religious tensions and the various wars that are going on now, and only idiots have snappy answers to those.

(2) Quality not quantity.

And another thing! I've got no chance of ten points out of this. That sucks. In questions like this, the points always go to the cute chick.

Because, despite the points system (or because of it) Answers has become more and more a chatroom. Answers include, "sorry cant help you" as respondent genuinly wants to communicate, and feels left out if not inputting to most questions asked. The chatroom mentality has won out, and is an example of what happens when a project is let out "in the wild" to develop.
The lowest common denominator rules, which is meaningless chat, and commeradery. They should drop the logos, points, and buddy style community feel, and concentrate on a core resource of Knowlage. Drop the live list, (all groups of questions comming in on a board) as this is a target for people to reply "first" with waffle. Make it All searchable, you have to pick your area first, with no live list.Google has an "experts" system, where you Pay for answers!! This is a competitor, gone wrong. I too have p i s s e d about with marmite? questions, and had 500% more response to serious topics. Stay with it, maybee more of us serious types can change it? Keep the humour, yer, but decent answers sometimes would be good too.

(oh, and Fu*ck your crumpets.)

Update: since answering this, ive made a new posting in questions, click the Ben-b icon, and look for my latest question. It may be entertaining, and prove this askers point. (ok it is a bit cruel...to ask..i dont Have cats!!!)
Update: just looked, five minutes...five answers!
" " : seven minutes, ten answers...i darednt read them!

Because everybody with creativity and some wit can answer an irrelevant topic, but only a few people have the knowledge to answer serious questions.

^ That will cost you all your crumpets...

properly, initially, human beings could ask unrelated questions the following because they want solutions from the crew that visits this section, and in the adventure that they requested the questions in a diverse classification, human beings from the following may no longer see them. this isn't only a random web site; it really is an component to human beings that has stepped ahead over the perfect 4 or 5 years. an outstanding huge style human beings have acquaintances the following and we've a tendency to gravitate in the route of this section even if our questions surely take care of religion or no longer. besides that... properly, why shouldn't we submit some off-topic questions once in a lengthy time period? it really is all in exciting.

I know exactly what you mean. I have asked fun questions, silly ones, awkward ones, trivia, etc and the answers I have recieved have been unbelievable. Have you also noticed, it does not matter what sort of question you ask, some one will give you a bible chapter and verse answer? In answer to your second question, my wife says butter.

to answer your first question.....i know what you mean....i didnt check your q&a history before answering this one but it is quite aggravating to have only silly inquiries replied to!...as for the second question - tea :o)
*edit.....your point has been proven by the answers youve gotten here.....some only addressed the second issue rather than the first which was really your question this go round
