I've been in Dubai myself many times. Even though Dubai is a Southern Persian Gulf state, it can get very hot in the summer ranging from 29 at night on average and 46 during the day. It can get really hot close to 55.
However, in the winter it has a mild weather ranging from 10 at night and 26 during the day. It is still warmer than Vancouver's summer though ;) Have fun. Take a jacket because you may feel cold at night. That's all

Visited Dubai many times and the weather is still nice during winter but it can get chilly enough that you may want a sweater. I always still generally where summer clothes in the winter there though. As for vegetarian food I think most restaurants will accommadate you but you may be most happy with the Indian Restaurants for that. There are some nice Arabic dishes though that you could try. Menus are all in English and Arabic so it is pretty easy to figure out. There are lost so good Japanese restaurants too.

In winter, expect the kind of weather you might find on a nice summer day in temperate climates. Daytime temperatures will be in the 70s F or the 20s C. At night, you may need a sweater or light jacket. If you are going in January, it might rain a little--or it might not. For clothing, take cotton short sleeves. Plan to keep your shoulders and knees covered, for modesty's sake (and also to ward off sunburn). If you'll be going to the beach or the pool, definitely take a bathing suit (but no thongs, please).

Indian vegetarian food is extremely easy to find. Just about every Indian restaurant has vegetarian entrees, and there are many Indian vegetarian restaurants. Many Western restaurants also have vegetarian dishes available. In Arabic restaurants, order a hummus platter or zatar bread (like a green pizza, sort of).

it won't be cold, just take a jacket in case,,,
and you will... i lived on Abu Dhabi for 7 years and occasionally went to Dubai...
so the winter there is not cold, at night it sometimes get cold, so take a sweater or two... dn't take heavy clothes that;s for sure, you can take t-shirts and cutshirt.. wtever u want, but it's not gonna be very very hot,,,
plus in Dubai you'll probably be hanging out in malls more ,,,
and you will find vegetarian food there for sure, because it's well prepared for visitors..
Dubai is really nice but expensive a little...
and trust you will have fun...

My friend, as far as I know there is no such thing as winter in Dubai. But during the european winter season, it is slightly hot and cool climate and cool breeze during the evenings.

About veg food, oh la la!, you will be the king there as you have Indian, Pakistani, Lebanese, Japenese, Korean, Chinese all these rest cater to vegetarian foods. Even Mac Donalds have got a veg burger in their menu.

Have fun and do send us a postcard.

Hot and Humid. Not advisable to travel this time to Dubai. Most of the residents will choose this period (July - August) for vacation.
