get a new boss!

If she is your boss, just better kiss up. Once you start being a take charge type of person, she will look at your as a threat, and guess what, you won't have a job any more. Just shut up and be quiet, there are probably other higher ups that know it anyway, and she may not be there as long as you think and you might be the next boss. Just play it cool, if you want your job.

Do everything that you can to help your boss be a hero. You can not miss. Donald Trump is where he is because of his people. If this boss is really bad and you help, think what you will be able to do when you get a great boss. All your problem is is another life lesson.

Whomever, hired or gave her the job must have thought that she is qualified to do the job. You probably don't know her job description and all her responsibilities. Maybe that's her first "Boss" job. Be supportive and when you have the time, ask her for work or whatever she would need you to work on. Help her and support her. Believe me, it will show on your next performance appraisal/raise.

It might help to try and understand your bosses side of the fence, we as subordinates don't get the "big picture" in most work places, we really don't know (typically.....) what all they go through and/or are responsible for, or what crap their boss is giving them. There is a lot to consider, ease up, and try "being there" as a person, it might help :)

Be patient, show respect and bring up new ideas that can help her look great and grow professionally. Take initiative. These things will not only help the whole organization but will make you look good and get YOU noticed for a promotion!

If you still need that job, you will keep quiet. Or simply writing a letter to the Senior management team and asking change the department. there's enough in your life, you don't want to add office drama to your life!!

Tolerate it for as long as you can while doing everything you have to get the skills/knowledge you need to get a better job (internally or externally). Unfortunately, you will encounter this problem again.
