A photon is not one of the candidates for dark matter. Dark matter is still a theory. Photons are quantum units of light or electro-magnetic Radiation. Look for my answers to all of your recent questions. It will help you make sense of it all.

A photon is a unit of electromagnetic radiation (light, x-rays, microwaves, etc.), not a type of matter. It's a "piece" of energy. It isn't invisible necessarily -- if photons of visible light weren't constantly striking your retinas, you wouldn't see anything.

youre an idiot. a photon is an energy packet, like a wave, not matter at all.

Photons are particles of light aren't they, then how could they be dark matter

photons have both the properties of matter and of energy in the form of waves.

I believe they are still sort of a mystery in many ways.
