Should I take it in Dec. of the end of the year, because I can always take as many times as I want in my Senior year, but if I take it in Dec. it will be more difficult

Take it once in December, and take it again at the end of the school year.

If you do excellently in December, don't even bother taking it again.
If you do poorly, and you show improvement in June, the schools like to see that. Plus, you get an idea of how to take the SAT, which is really all that the SAT tests you on.

If you only take it in June, and you get a bad score, it'll be tough to get another test in in time for early bird admits.

The December test is not any more difficult than at any other time during the year. However, YOU might be more prepared at a different time in the year than at the December time period. I would heartily recommend taking the PSAT's if you haven't already. If you have, then take the SAT's in December and then again if you feel your scores need improving. Depending on what school you are interested in attending, anything above 1300 should be fine. Additionally, you may want to take the SAT II's in your junior year as well.

Also, in the University of California system, application deadlines are usually a full year ahead of attendance (apply September 2006 to start September 2007, for example), so you would want to make sure you had plenty of time to retake a test or to get scores submitted.

Remember, it's just a Saturday morning and some money, right?

Why are you taking it in your junior year anyway?

That's your business. The answer to your question is, you should take it when you have the fewest distractions in your life. When you can get a good night's sleep beforehand, and be able to sit there and take the test calmly and without feeling a lot of stress.

Naturally, the longer you wait, the more you ought to have learned. But that learning doesn't do you any good if you're too tired or keyed up to recall it. And while it's true that you can take it again if you don't do as well as you want...who wants to take that test more than once?!

Try to take it fall, spring and fall again. Your score will improve each time.
