Sounds like you should wait till they're gone.
The way you are talking you have had a rough enough time already.
Keeping away is often thebest way, ecpecially if you don't want people asking awkward questions.
I don't want to advertise but if you want to see a way to make some extra cash I have an idea on my PROFILE. Take a look, it may help you.
Good Luck.

We can't all ignore the obvious question here. How did you really get the bruises on your face? And please address that situation immediately by making sure you guarantee your own safety. Having said that, you might call in to work and speak with a supervisor, telling him or her that you want to work but have an embarrassing, visible physical condition and you are wondering if there might be any work you could do from home or if you could come in "after hours" or something like that. If you don't have the type of job that you can do that with, I would say, go ahead to work, either tell the truth (and let someone help you) or say something generic instead of a lie. You could say, "It's rather embarrassing and I'd rather not talk about it if that's okay." Word of that should get around (you can't help that people will "talk"), and then at least people will quit asking.

Seems to me that the real issue is how and why you have got bruises on your face. If the truth is too much for you to handle then wear some makeup or say you were in an accident or sumthin. Make sure whatever put those bruises on your face, doesnt do it again!

This depends on how you got the bruises on your face. If a hubby, boyfriend or family member has hurt you - you have bigger problems than needing some extra cash! I don't know where you live but you need to leave a dangerous situation if you've been hurt. If you hurt yourself on purpose then you also then need help. Call social services - you're only lying to yourself to say that everything is fine.

Why would you have to lie about the bruises on your face, unless they came from your BF/Husband or parents...and if that's the case you got bigger problems then worrying about telling lies at work. Besides most of them are going to know you're lying anyway

Go to work anyway. If the bruises are from domestic assault you need to report it. Have a friend go with you for support. If it was just a bar room fight and you got your a$$ kicked, tell them "You should see the other girl if you think I look bad!"

So its OK to lie about being sick but its not OK to lie about you getting the sh!t beat out of you by someone significant. I would just go to work and tell them the truth. You should not be embarrassed about telling them the truth unless your still with the person who did it. If you are still with that person than I will feel no remorse for you if it happens again.
