No. In fact, I was the first person among my family or friends to fly after 9/11. If the terrorists scare us out of running our lives the way we want to, then they've won.

In a lot of ways I think we are safer since 9/11 because our basic psychology is different. I think that instead of letting an attacker have whatever they want and hope it's all over soon, we're more likely to fight back and defend ourselves now.

Yup, I'm much less inclined to fly than I was before. The security checks annoy me and the harassment if I forget to leave my pocketknife at home make it more trouble than it's worth. Also the fact that it's gotten so expensive nowadays. All things considered, I'd rather drive unless I have to cross an ocean. That's the only time I fly.

No.
My family and I (hubby, me and 3 kids) flew right after the airlines were reopened after 9/11. There were about 25 people on that flight.
We felt that if we didn't keep on living our lives and do what we want to do, within reason, then the terrorists won.
When my number is up, I can be jaywalking in a cul-de-sac and get hit by a car.
We have flown many, many times since then and we've done what we want-- you can't live life scared.

Considering I'm flying more now than prior to 9/11, I'd have to say I'm less concerned about flying than more concerned.

Besides, Superman says that, "Statiscally speaking, flying is still the safest way to travel."

Not really. While it crosses my mind shortly before the flight, there are simply way too many flights that go on without a problem to be legitimately scared about it. I also think about the possibility of something going wrong and crashing too. That's probably more likely than a highjacking at this point.

Yup, didn't much like flying even before 9/11 - not flying anywhere now.

No, I have no problem with flying. I only hate flying when it takes more than 6 hours to where I want to go. Like I was pretty much bored out of my mind when I flew to Germany...

No. Do you know that 30 to 40 THOUSAND people die in automobie accidents every year? Does that make you less inclined to ride in an automobile this year?

No, because I feel that flying is safer now than it has ever been. I am however hesitant to take a subway or go to major tourist attractions because those will and have been terrorist targets.
