Well, the main difference between hair and fur is where it grows, not what it's made of. Hair length is a trait that's specific both to you as an individual, and to your species. So you have long hair on your head and short hair on your arms, while a deer has short hair all over. Also, unlike hair, fur includes a layer of finer, shorter denser hairs, the underfur, through which longer, coarser, more thinly distributed guard hairs extend

Hair is extra long fur, but most fur can also be called hair. I'm not sure why humans can grow their hair long, there doesn't seem to be a good reason for it other than to attract a mate.

Hair can carry dander, ask the Head'n'Shoulders crowd. Fur can have an undercoat which is usually finer and for insulation and cover hairs, those are the longer coarser hairs you see on the outside. Hair is just hair.

furr has dander and is shed like dogs and cats normally do. Hair (like on "shedless dogs") falls out like normal human hair and does not contain as much if any dander. Non shedding dogs liek yorkies, shitz tsus, spanish water dogs, and others do not shed but they still lose hair liek we do. These breeds are good for allergy sufferers because. like us, these breeds only have one coat (one layer of hair). fur on the other hand comes in layers. Some dogs have lots of layers and lots of hair follicles per inch of skin (like labs) so they are waterproof. Others have two or three layers of less fur per inch. since there are so many layers these dogs have to shed, the hair falls out liek normal but sits there under however many layers its under until it gets brushed off or until it finds its way onto your furniture.
