so my rear brake caliper on my 93 lexus es 300 is sticking. i'm about to buy a replacement. however, is it worth it to spend twice as much on buying proformance name brands that give no warranty from local stores... or should i buy the instore brands which provide warranty? like a autozone or pepboys brand?.
i pretty much have a stock car... should i spend the extra money for name brand

Buy the store brand with the warranty. Buy the loaded caliper with the pads installed.

The best thing to do is get the loaded calipers (just like a baked potato) for 2 reasons the 1st being over a period of time the bushings and the pins (which are part of the bracket) wear /bind in the bridge (bracket) and the 2nd is the cost of the loaded calipers (they come with the caliper, bracket, and the brake pads too) so you save money in the long run! Is your T.B. an EXT or a NORTH FACE edition if it is These vehicles have phenolic caliper pistons!

Hmm. I got new calipers earlier this year for my car, and I just went with stock. Nothing has gone wrong and I feel perfectly fine. I'd go the stock with warrenty. Usually it's not worth getting performance parts I say. The stock is good for me. But if you own a Lexus, I'd think you'd have the money to find a performance with warrenty. You wouldn't fail if you went that route.

Bascally a caliper is a caliper unless you upgrade to Brembo brakes or something similar. Save your money unless you are not satisfied with the stock brake performance.

Stick with OEM, they work best with the equipment that you have.
