It's both. I've got a female cousin named Casey and I had a crush on a guy back in middle school named Kasey.

It really can be unisex. It works for male or female. Although for a girl I'd think "Casey" and for a boy I'd prefer "Kasey" - although either one could be male/fem.

Kasey (or any of the variants that start with K) is feminine. Casey is masculine.
