Yes, it's like whatever I am thinking completely takes over my senses, and I can just faintly feel wierd emotions, hear things, see things, smell things, taste things. I don't understand it myself, and people think I am freaky...eh, oh well...

Yes - this can be used as a positive thing. You have control over your mind, it does not control you. Try to think of a time when you felt your mind was not racing around like crazy. It's like the story of the wild monkey - always grabbing onto another branch before he lets go of the first. Meditation will help maker this possoble - a calm mind, a clear thinking mind.

Yes, but only for brief periods at a time (a few minutes here and there, and it's intentional). It's an escape from tedium.
