I value wisdom over knowledge because with wisdom you already "Know" before you learn! With wisdom you know the difference between right and wrong before anything happens! Without wisdom you have to go through the school of hard knocks {life} doing everything before you found out if you did the right thing or not! Sometimes learning the hard way! I think you acquire "wisdom" with age, and sometimes it takes longer for some than others!

Here's my take on this....

Wisdom is a combination of instinct (common sense), knowledge and experience. These building blocks of wisdom are accumulated over time and at varing degrees during that time. Humans start off life with very little knowledge, no experience and some common sense (instinct). As we progress in age and enter into school our experience level increases as does our knowledge level. Our knowledge level accelerates as we progress through high school while our common sense struggles to keep up with the limited experiences we are exposed to. As we mature into adults our life experiences grow and we begin to make connections between our experiences, the knowledge that we've obtained and our common sense.

Wisdom must come with age as Wisdom is the combination of these three aspects that must be developed over time. We value wisdom over knowledge for knowledge cannot stand on it's own without the common sense needed to apply it correctly and the life experiences that reflects reality. Does this mean that every older adult is wise or had wisdom? No, this is especially true if they failed to learn from the experiences or failed to develop their knowledge or use their common sense effectively.

What this does mean, is that for a person to become wise a person must have experienced life, worked to gain knowledge and developed their sense of right and wrong as well develop an understanding of human nature.

That's my take on it. Hope that helps!

Knowledge is easy to come by. There's knowledge all around us every day--lots to learn. But real wisdom only comes with time and experiences.

Wisdom is how you apply your knowledge. If you see someone choking, and have the knowledge of how to help...but just sit in your chair...you are not very wise. A wise person would take what they know to help other people.

Because google gives you the knowledge. Wisdom must be acquired through experience.

Wisdom is learned by years of experience, trials and mistakes it's person, and from observation etc.
Knowledge is taught from books, scientific proven experiments, the past, and theory. They are similar, but different. Someone who has learned from their mistakes, and done things different that worked better for them.

All the knowledge in the world wouldn't help you if you didn't have the wisdom to use it well.
