If the weather is nice, go to a park nearby or a walk or get an ice cream cone. If it's not that great, rent some movies and grab some popcorn or come up with a craft project that you both could do like making jewelry or something. Or you can go out to the movies and mall and have a girl's day out.

1. Nature walk, the weather is great... go hiking in the National Parks
2. Shopping (summer clothing and school)
3. Movies--- Pirates of the Caribbean was great!
4. Help out the homeless
5. Window shopping in the city

Find a craft online to try, take a class at your local craft store (most are free or inexpensive), contact your local library and see if you can read to younger kids during a reading hour, collect bottles and cans and turn them in for money, find an elderly person in your neighborhood who may need some help and offer to do chores for free for them, set up an obsticle course for your bikes and challenge yourselves and neighborhood kids, try something new you've always wanted to do, sneak into the kitchen and wash the dishes or do some other chore for your mom without her knowing you did it, set up a car wash for $5 a car in front of your house, sell lemonade in front of your house, make cookies and deliver them to your neighbors, offer to walk a neighbor's dog....I could go on forever!

go swimming? Get a bunch of friends together and go to the beach. You could make sand castles and stuff. No beach? How about....write short stories? Go for a bike ride? Play basketball?

Swimming, thats what I do with my 9 and 2 year old nephews. They cant get enough of it.
