Definitely!!! I was one of those mothers that thought it was ridiculous for kids to have cell phone. But I quickly changed my mind when my daughter started Jr.high. I don't know what I would of done if she didn't have that cell phone. Sometimes things happen that are out of our hands. IE being late to pick up, traffic, other siblings etc.. and Jr. high is the start of new things in our kids life IE friends etc.. and this is a way of communicating with our kids and knowing where they are and who they are with. Keeping tabs on them !! you know what I mean!! They have rules in school about cell phone and you will have yours. Plus check her phone once in awhile.Text messages.See what she is up to.We have to as parents!!!

We gave our daughter her own phone line when she started Jr. High on the condition that she is off the phone by 9:30 on weeknights and 11:00 on weekends. And if the grades go down, she loses the phone. We will wait until she starts driving on her own before we get her the cell.

Definatley! If she wants one real bad, ask her what kind, cell phone or regular cordless.
And if she spends extra minutes on a cell phone, take it away for a few days.
Have a time limit on the regular phone, and if she breaks rules there too, unplug it till she is ready to have that time limit.

I gave my teen daughter a cell phone so that she could feel safe and be able to call me if she needed to get home. It made me feel better. She also has a phone in her room, but there are limitations and she follows them.

yes. some sprint phones have features on the phone that can lock text messaging, the web browser.

yes, you should give her a phone just give her a pre paid one so she doesnt go over the limit
