This is in the "Entertainment" section because that's where the "Polls & Surveys" category is located.

Robert H. Goddard.

He launched the first liquid fueled rocket. He wasn't given much thought or recognition, but he made rocket travel possible. Without his patents for a multi-staged rocket and his development of liquid fuel, landing on the moon may not have been possible.

Keep in mind, the first launch was in MA, (Auburn MA) and it took place in 1926. 53 years later, we would land on the moon. That's pretty cool if you ask me.

In 1903, the Wright Brothers flew their Flyer 120 feet, only 23 years after that Dr. Goddard was launching a rocket. Not too shabby!

Woody Allen! He's so funny and yet, not stupid. He has a nice balance of comedy with drama and he's very insightful. In terms of entertainment (which is of course where the question is posted) I think he's pretty much the man. If this wasn't in the entertainment section I might have to think of someone else for greatest mind.
