the US has given billions to every freaken desperate country in the world so what what do we get in return nothing but anti american rehtorc. What do we gget idle promises llike North koreas give us billions we will feed our people and not test fire nukes oh waitthat was clinton who made that agreement ooops seems like clinton isn't very good at foreign affairs as he is at having domestic affairs .....LIKE THE MONICA AFFAIR

But anyways what if we kets our billions and consolidated our power and say F the world. Do something in exchange for your billion dollar aid packages. Hell when Katrina hit those freakers didn't want to send a nickle over to us. Instead they said oh thats what you get for causing global warming. I say F them take our billions and billions let them screw off and build 10,000 foot leeves in new orleans, A trliion dollars star wars program, three new World trade centers that are three times as high with three giant middle fingers for antennas at ther spires

Our standard of living would rise dramatically.

You are correct, the USA has always dug deep in its pockets to help the rest of the world..... and nothing much has been received in return.

How quickly Europe forgot the Marshall Plan that rebuilt much of what WW2 destroyed.... As for North Korea, communists can't be trusted in any way, shape, or form, and socialists are little better at keeping their word, spoken or written.

The US government gives billions in foreign aid to countries that vote against the USA in the UN, declare publicly that they want to destroy the US, and to top it off, some of the people from some of those countries have attacked the USA and innocent American civilians, more than once.

Well, i guess that this is the penalty America pays for trying so hard to inherit the title of "the most powerful country in the world". When you have this title, in order to keep it, and prevent an outright world war III, you're going to have to give back to needy countries every so often.

I think that America, too often, tries to please too many people, and in the process steps on countries' toes, causing a lot more problems in the long haul.

Also, looking at the history of America's endeavors, America has built much of it's wealth upon the back of many developing countries. Maybe all of this "giving" to other countries is like karma... America is giving BACK to the many that it's taken from.

But what I don't agree with is this freakin war that's costing SO much money and is only going to hurt America.

Even though I disagree with you, I can certainly understand your frustrations!

Everybody here so far is right. All that I can add is that it staggers me to hear that we bail out the car companies and the insurance companies and send all this aid to foreign countries for WHATEVER the reason is YET I hear that a school district in LA California had to lay off half of its teachers because the district didn't have enough in the budget. This means more crowded classroom, lower moral, and an overall drop in the quality of education. What is more important to this country than education- what is more VITAL. Sure, send all the money to Pakistan and Israel and sell all our science to Asia so they can use it against us- SURE. outsourcing is GREAT! We have to stop blaming political parties if we want to see real CHANGE! We have to stand up against this corruption or our children will grow up in a world even worse than this!

You have voiced my opinion, only a little more colorfully than I would. If the USA would shutter its windows and lock its doors the way it did in the late 40's and early 50's this country would boom. Not with just babies either. Take a look back through history, See when the USA was at its peak productive time.

What if America stopped selling Arms to the Middle East and making billions?
What if they stopped taking huge 'donations' from drug companies, fast food companies, etc?
What if the politicians stopped getting kick backs from companies to keep down minimum wage?
What if they stopped making excuses and admitted they were after the oil?
What if they acknowledged that there is more to the world than just themselves and learnt where other countries are?

Open your eyes.

You are such an idiot that you shouldn't be allowed to live. The US doesn't do so much charity as it does bribery to create friendly regimes. What is your PERSONAL contribution to the US economy, huh? Why should my money go into protecting degenerate morons like you?
