I enjoy history, and I would like to get a major, but I don't know what is open after college other than teaching. Any suggestions

I would suggest looking into museums, federal employment (there are history offices for every federal branch), and other more creative job opportunities. Teaching is overfilled with History Majors (for sure), so going with Museums, History Offices, finding little Historical Museums that need curator help, and things like that should be explored.

Just about anything you want. If you make it through college then you can adapt to most careers. Unless it's something that requires specific skills like a scientist, doctor, etc. you'll be open to many many different opportunities. A degree only proves that you can learn.

I got my degree in computer science. If I had to do it over again I would get a history degree and then maybe my master's in computer science. Follow your heart!

You could go on to law school or try library school. Do you like libraries? There are many "jobs" a history major can do in a library-
Reference Librarian for 1. There are also special libraries- like Art Libraries, Music Libraries. Lots of choices!

Check with your adviser you may want to gear your studies towards your next degree....
