I am looking into purchasing a monetero (1994 or newer) anyone know naything about them? Towing capacity, average fuel mileage? Notorious problems? thank you.

i have an 2000 montero, love it. not the greatest on gas. goes great on the beach here. never had a problem whatsoever. towing a 19' boat is slow going but she has never failed.

Mitsubishi's are rated among the most unreliable vehciles sold in the US, and their dealer service is awful too. Gas mileage maight be mid to high teens.
I would avoid them if possible. Better choices would be Honda CRV, or Pilot, or Toyota RAV4 or Highlander. All get much better mileage and are more reliable.

wouldn't buy one. i'd look at chevy blazer or gmc jimmy, but that's just me. like the other guy said, mitsubishis are VERY unreliable.
