Unfortunetly, sweetie, a masseuse is basically the same thing as a massage therapist which is a four year bachelor's degree (I was interested in becoming a massage therapist at one time) at least. You'll get paid better if you get a masters or a doctrite. If you want to get money for your services as a masseuse, you need to have a degree. :o)

You take classes for that. Here in Virginia Beach we have fuller school for massage. You study the anatomy of the body. You learn all the health rules. You also have to give massages as a student for a certain number of hours. Then I think you take a state board exam similar to the type you take for cosmetology. Then you are a licensed massage therapist.I don't think they separate the two. You are a masseuse regardless.I think the class takes about a year.I hope this will help.

You have to go to school. Every state is different, but you are required to have a certain number of hours in classroom instruction and a certain number of hours "hands-on" experience before you can be licensed. Some states also require background checks and drug tests (no junkies or sex offenders allowed to be massage therapists). don't really need a degree, a vocational qualification is enough- available at most colleges or you could do a 'home learning' course.

Usually a 'masseuse' course combined with 'aromatherapy' but you can just do one on it's own.
