It seams the religious left is pushing for a foothold in the middle east, and the support of Israel for biblical reasons. Do our leaders believe in Armagheddon?

The difference between the insurgent factions in the Middle East is around oil. Not all factions share in the oil profits, equally. To divide up the profits derived from oil amongst each and every citizen would lessen the tensions between the warring insurgent factions.

If anyone believe Usama bin Laden is about religion, they are fooling themselves. The appeal to religion is to appeal for funding for war materials.

War is about winning. Not religion. So, we do what we have to do to protect ourselves from the cowards who hide behind religion and the scriptures.

The true answer to the problems of the Middle East is to find a way to separate church from state and divide the oil profits so that each and every citizen has an equal share.

Truthfully I think it is a small nation just fighting for survival. Iran and Syria are helping the Hezbollah with this war, with equipment and manpower. Who is helping Israel with manpower? Would you all like to see a nation and it's people obliterated? Remember we are the devil on a donkey according to Iran. Who do you think the next target is going to be? Britain is also on Iran's hit list. It is OK for Israel but what about when it comes knocking on our door? Will we say oh it is just religion?

In part yes. Especially when you talk about the Zionist movement. However, at least in America, there is also the history of bigotry and xenophobia coupled with the fact that in order for the American government to operate the way it wants to (slightly above the law) it needs a "them" to point to to justify their actions. In WW II it was the Japanese and Nazis, after that it was the Communists, now its Arab terrorists.
