I'm confused. An epidural is supposed to make a laboring woman NOT hurt. Unless you're asking about how much it hurts to have the needle stuck in. Apparently not so bad that it keeps women from opting for the pain meds.

When you asked who abortion hurts, that's a complicated question. It always hurts the baby physically (they are usually poisened with saline injection or chopped into pieces and vacuum extracted) and the effects on everyone else involved (mother, family, father, friends, society, etc.) are really hard to measure.

Think about it this way. If you have an abortion you get absolutely nothing out of it except guilt over murdering an innocent baby. If you have an epidural and/or go through the labor of delivering a baby you have a beautiful life to show from it.

From what I understand the emotional pain that one suffers from post abortion lasts a long time if not a lifetime. An epidural relieves pain within seconds of the infusion.

okay first of all what each of those is used for is completely different. Abortion I have heard does hurt physically for awhile but remeber you would always ave that emotional pain of knowing you killed you little baby and you would always wonder what he/she woulda looked liked what their first word is and so on. Epidural hurts while you are getting it but it is to help reduce pain during labor so its not painful in the long run.

I've never had a child, but I did have an abortion. Now-a-days they put you under for the abortion. I didn't feel a thing. My stepdaughter's mother did say that the epidural hurt horribly though.

Epidural only hurts a little when they give you the injection. A little pinch and then your numb. It's the most wonderful invention for childbirth. Abortion.....don't do it. It hurts physically, mentally and emotionally. And it stays with you, not just for a couple weeks or months but for years.

My wife had an epidural. After the initial prick, she said that she felt fine.

They took enough off so that she wasn't in terrible pain, but could still feel what was going on down there.

This is a crazy question! If you dont want to get pregnant, then dont have sex! I've never had one but I am sure an abortion would hurt worse. Emotionally and physically. It is a miracle to give birth. If you think it wouldnt be worth it then you should never have babies.

You really need to seek a therapist instead of asking a question like that on Yahoo questions. Your problems are much bigger than the pain of an epidural. Good luck with everything and please dont have children. It wouldnt be fair to them.
