Magnetize it, or record over it. You may need to put a piece of tape over the little cut out on the front of the tape. There is usually a tab there, put if it's pulled off, it activates a safety feature so you can't record over it unless you cover it with something.

Set your TV/recorder to an unused channel or disconnect the aerial from the video recorder and record then you will get a blank tape. If you simply record with your TV switched off you will record whatever channel the video is tuned into.

If the tab is broken off the side of the cassette, take a small tape and put it over the square , then you can tape over it as many times as you like.
You will know if you did it wrong, as the tape will eject when you go to record over it.

You need a strong electro-magnet (the kind you plug in). You wipe it back and forth over the tape and it removes any sound/images. Of course you can just record over the tape with a blank screen if you want (but the images are still embedded in the tape if someone wanted to find them.)

Either by placing a magnet over the entire tape--difficult to do, or simply rewinding back to the place where you want to delete it, use the counter if the portion you want to delete lays between something YOU don't want to delete, THEN just select a BLACK screen on your TV, any non-working channel will do, including snow, now hit record, stop on the COUNTER mark.

Record over it. If the little black plastic tag has been pulled off the top to stop you recording over it, stick some tape over it, that should do it
