What's the most effecting way to help poor children?
1) Limit the time that they spend just "hanging" around or being a couch potato
Before/After school/Summer day programs that receive funding so that the children can go free or at a low cost:
*Provide nutritious meal/snacks
*Provide an educational atmosphere (homework help, tutoring in all subjects, and opportunity for learning)
*Provide opportunity for exercise
*Provide positive mentors
2) Find out what the needs are such as…
*Clothing
*School materials
*Food
3) Offer parenting groups
*Parenting skills
*Money management
*Healthy living
*Career counseling/job skills
*Referral to other services

There are several good and reputable organizations that specialize in doing just this. I suggest donating to those organizations and trusting them to use the funds where they will do the most good.
I would recommend:
UNICEF
Save The Children
and
Red Cross

I believe both have their benefits. The organizations give them monetary support and the Church gives them moral and spiritual guidance to help them to grow up to be a good citizen.

the most effective way is not to give the children money or food but it is too make them happy and glad and to realize there life isn't horrible but yet u still have a whole life ahead of u

find the poor children in your neighborhood, if you give the money to a church or organization, a % of it goes into someone else's pockets,, maybe all of it,, who knows,,

i beleive the most effective ways ro help our poor children is to adopt one at a time and give them a good life. nice clothes and three meals a day and transportation to school everyday.

Make sure the children you bring into the world do not wind up as one of them---poor.
