An education system is multi-layered with each part contributing equally to the success of the system. The teachers, administrators, support staff, boards, ect. are charged with providing the opportunity for students to learn.

Students, communities (including boards), parents, ect. (which of course includes all of the above also) have the responsibility to make an effort to learn. Individual school districts are run by local boards where the local needs are worked into the curriculum. Education is to prepare individuals to be part of society.

Education is important. The goal of any education system should be to create life long self learners. Provide the tools needed to learn and research. Not create a group of human tape recorders that are feed knowlege then erased. Mastery teaching is important. Who in the work world would have an employer provide training, the employee only masters 45 or 50% and then are turned loose and ignored. Even 70% should not be considered good enough....an employee of mine that only understands 70% of their job is not good enough....that is 30% of the job that is in limbo and may or may not get done...it is all important. Just trying is not good enough.....repeat it...repeat it again....repeat the info in a different way....don't be stuck in a box that all have to advance at the same pace just based on age or when they were hired. Not everyone who starts college at the same time graduates at the same time....why does it have to be that way in public schools.....

Education formally is a social science that encompasses teaching and learning specific knowledge, beliefs, and skills. Good teachers in a given field use a variety of methods and materials in order to impart a knowledge of a curriculum to the students at school.

Informally, teaching is the process of learning how things work including numbers, reading and language that are taught by parents and other members of the student's culture.

This concept, when it runs systematically is called Education system.
Good luck.

RE:
I do believe that by not being a part of a solution you may also allow yourself to stay away from the problem. Especially when your trying to find a solution for people who never thought there was a problem to begin with. If everyone thought and did the same things, then there would be no room to venture out on your own brilliant ideas. I never said togetherness was bad, but if more people took on the attitude of LIVE AND LET LIVE then we would all be in a better place.

The education system in the U.S. is that entity charged with operating the schools from primary through University in the country for the express purpose of turning out funcitonal illiterates who have almost no skills but are brainwashed to believe it is better to feel good about being stupid than to learn.
