Wouldn't this just be a case of reverse racism or self-inflicted racism on your part.

You see a white woman crossing the street as you get close to her and you automatically assume she crossed because you're black. It is quite possible that she just needed to cross the street. Now I wasn't there and didn't see the whole situation, but this seems like a need to fulfill a stereotype about white people.

I'm white, and I don't cross the street when a black person walks past me. And let's face it, some people are just ignorant. It happens and it's going to take a lot more than askyahoo to change the face of society. I've been belittled by black people simply for being white before, but it didn't change the way I thought about black people. I was robbed by a black person on a couple of occasions and never a white person, but I know that not all black people are criminals and that not all white people are good.

Life happens and the best advice I can give you is to just be glad that you aren't a judgemental person who would cross the street in the presence of a white person. Everyone has their own thoughts, but don't assume that it's racism simply because you are who you are and she is who she is. Because it's much more likely that she just needed to be on that side of the street.

Sorry brother, but I do the same thing. I'm black and whenever I'm by myself and the street is deserted and I see a man coming towards me no matter his race I either cross or walk in the street.
reason #1- He very well may try to rob you
reason #2- Why squeeze past each other on the sidewalk when u can just walk in the street ( by the way i live in Brooklyn and the sidewalks are kinda narrow)
reason #3- Sometimes you just dont want to walk by someone
reason #4- Maybe you have to go across the street

So don't take it personally, its not that u smell, its not that you're black, and its not that you're fat, maybe she just wasn't paying attention to u and maybe she really had to cross the street. Or maybe it was these reasons and she's just racist, either way you'll never see her again so who cares??

1) Many people cross the street when ANYbody is coming toward them because they want their space.

2) Your kind asked for it.. so stick to it.. you're African American. not black any longer.

3) She was on the wrong side of the street in the first place. And now the Asian is on the wrong side. Wait.. Asians are smart... well.. yeah., she probably though you were going to rob her and do whatever else with her. If it was me, I'd probably run - not walk.

4) You hurt your own feelings. You sound psychotic. You're lucky you're even allowed on the street - doubt you'll be there long.

Don't let your feelings be hurt from another persons ignorance. I'm a black female and I wouldn't care what the man's race or color was, if he looked suspicious like he was up to something, I'd be on guard. If you didn't look threatening to her and she just crossed the street because you are black, shame on her. A lot of white people pretend to not be prejudice yet they show it everyday in the things they do and choices they make. I bet a few blocks down she passed a white guy on the street and didn't cross because he was white and he probably robbed her! HA HA!

Not all tigers are maneaters.
Even a maneater tiger isn't always hungry.
Still, when you see a tiger coming toward you on the sidewalk, you cross to the other side of the street.

One in three young black men has been in trouble with the law. It's a shameful statistic. Prejudice will be with us until young black men disproportionately refrain from committing crimes.

Did you point a gun at her? Well, there you go.

Just kidding. I often cross the street when I'm alone and about the meet the only other guy on the street, whether he looks scary or not. If she didn't seem to have a problem until you came along, it could have been because you are black. Simple ignorance. You sound kinda scary, though...

Did you ever think that perhaps she WAS going to cross the street anyways? Unless you've got another indication of her intentions to avoid you, then you have to give her the benefit of the doubt. Besides if she crossed the street for every 'non-white' she came near she'd never get where she was going.

Sorry to say, I think you're being a little sensitive.

Something similar happen to me and two of my friends who were black. When we was walking down the street we saw this white lady walking toward us. Once she saw us she, suddenly turn around and walked the opposite direction. She was trying to cross and so were we. Once we got close to the crosswalk where she was she said to us "Don't even think about you bast%#$" then she pull out a cell phone from her purse and walked away.

It's definitely a racial thing.

I understand, I am a white woman, and I am married to a black man, when we are out he isn't treated the same. I really feel bad for him, he is a wonderful man, husband, father...... He doesn't deserve the way he is treated by my race, Sir, if you were walking down the street and I saw you coming I would look in your eyes and say " God Bless you, have a wonderful Day "

Don't get violent on her and say you'll beat her a** because that's probably why she crossed the street, some white people that don't really have experience with black people are scared of them and think that we're bad because of what they see on tv and what not- she's just a dumb lady who's miseducated about us black people.
