Ok IM is basically instant messaging (like e-mail but instant). Some IM's are MSN. MSN is usable if you have a Windows Live Messenger Passport (a hotmail/msn e-mail address) and you can add anyone else you know who has a hotmail or msn e-mail address. With MSN you can have join conversations with more than one person at the same time in seperate windows or with up to all your contacts at the same time.
There is also Yahoo! Messenger which is basically the same as MSN. There's also Web Messenger and you can get different ones that have all the well known messengers (such as MSN, Yahoo and AOL) in one.
You can get an IM software from the internet. If you want Yahoo! Messenger go to www.yahoo.com and look there. Or if you want MSN messenger go to www.msn.com. It depends on what you want. Or you could get all of them. I have two but I have more friends who use MSN and have MSN addresses so I use MSN more. I. M. = Instant messaging such as yahoo messenger, MSN messenger skype etc.You can talk , type or webcam with people, in "real time" just like a phone . Look at the link below for MSN. or look at skype.com or in yahoo

IM stands for INSTANT MESSAGE u can get them in various websites YAHOO! MSN.com AOL.com maybe if u have google email i dont know if google has IM yet or see if any of the other websites that provide u with a free email subscription

IM - is instant Messenger, Yahoo and MS(N) both over versions as do other websites, basically it allows you to chat by text, share webcam and speak to your friends /family. Just goto the Yahoo os MS homepages for the links

An IM stands for Instant messenger, Yahoo have one, so do Hotmail/MSN go to MSN Messenger to download yours free of charge and then chat to all your mates for free! Its great I use mine all of the time!

IM is short for Instant messenger. AOL, Yahoo, MSN each have one and they are all free. It allows you to type messages, or connect to talk, share files etc directly with one of your friends who has the same program.
