I switched to A.R. Lipil, he still does it but not as bad. Is he allergic? Should I try a soy based formula?

how do you feed your baby. it also depends on how you position your baby. i had to feed my baby almost in a sitting postion because he swallowed too much air. also it depends on the nipple too. are the holes too big?also i found out that my baby ate too much during feedings. i found out that feeding alittle at atime while burping in between feedings could help relieve gas pressure. and ALSO i found out i had to buy kitchen towels instead of those burping clothes.

Soy formula might work, or possibly the Nestle Good Start brand with the very easy-to-digest comfort proteins.

Some babies are just more prone to spitting up and as long as they are growing and thriving, it should not be much of a concern. My daughter spit up occasionally even until she was 1 year old. But she was none the worse for it. My son stopped spitting up at 6 months. Every baby is different.

Spitting up a lot doesn't usually signal an allergy as much as actual vomiting (and rashes, etc.) and I'm sure you know the difference. Spitting up might be more a symptom of "sensivity" rather than allergy.

I'm amazed you've made it this far NOT on soy!

We had our son on "normal" formula for 3 months (the NICU started us on it) until we realized that coilic really isn't fun. We switched to soy and haven't had a problem since.

Our son is 10 months and still spits up a little bit, but it's not much. We overfeed him at times, and sometimes he just needs to spit up. Our doctor isn't worried, so neither are we.

If you ARE worried, don't hesitate in calling the doctor. They have heard EVERY question, so don't worry about sounding silly.

All three of my kids could not handle milk based formula but it took almost a year before figuring it out with my first. My advice is to try a soy based for a few days, if he still spits (is it projectile?) then try Nutramagen which is rice based. I hope he gets to feeling better soon!

Yes soy worked for me I was having the same problem with my son. Try it and see if it works. Good Start Soy is a good choice I must add easier for them to digest and so forth. goodluck

Yes, your child is allergic. Try different formulas. Be careful though, child may also be allergic to soy.

Definitely try the soy but also consider that your baby could have reflux disease. Its not uncommon. My son has it and he spit up (it seems like) every time he was fed (breastmilk), but he still gained weight. If the baby keeps spitting up ask your pediatrician
