c = 3p -100
p +c = 1100
p + 3p -100 = 1100
4p = 1200
p= 300, so printer= $300
c= 800, so computer = $800

The printer costs $300. The computer costs $800

If the printer costs $300, then 3 times that is $900. If the computer costs $100 less than that, then it is $800

x - 100 = 3 y, so x = 3y + 100
x + y = 1100, so 3y + 100 + y = 1100, so 4y + 100 = 1100, so 4y = 1000, so y = 250, so x = 3y + 100 = 850

P+C = 1100.

C = 3*P-100

P + 3*P-100 = 1100

4*P -100 = 1100

4*P = 1200

P = 300

C = 800

P+C=1100
C=3P-100
plug in 3P-100 into first equation:
P+3P-100=1100
4P-100=1100
4P=1200
P=300 then plug this into either first equation to get computer's cost:
c+300=1100
c=800
