I am 33 weeks preg and my husb and I have decided on the name Andie for our 2nd daughter, but we are having the hardest time giving her a middle name.
Her last name is Sevart.
So it will look like this Andie ---------- Sevart.
Please help!!

Please don't give her a common middle name. Andie is a cute name for a girl and it will carry well with her. Make her middle name different or unique in order to set her apart. Andie Marie is cute, but I have about 16 friends who say their middle name is Marie or Dawn, Elizabeth, or etc....I like all the names I mean my first name is Elizabeth, but I go by my middle name, which brings me to my next point that you want her to be able to use her middle name too. But make it unique enough that she can be different. It helps to provide kids with a sense of individuality. (older names are not being used as often, so look to granparents, your maiden name, family surnames, etc. those are some nice, unique names)
My personal opinion is all kids should have one "normal" name that allows them to fit in and blend, and one unique name that will set them apart. But you should make both names as versatile as possible either with lots of nicknames or the use of initials.
Personally I like the initals AJ
this way she has a third option. AJ is cute for a little girl. So she has the option of going by Andie, AJ or her middle name. It makes growing up easier because if kids tease her for her name, she can change it.

Another tip: check the us census website. they can tell you the popular names for the past several decades and can tell you whats popular now and several years ago.
also run a search engine for baby name voyager. that also shows popularity trends in a cute pink/blue graph format.

For a nice rhythm, choose a middle name with 3-4 syllables. And read the initials to make sure it doesn't spell something nasty. So...how about Andie Melissa or Andie Jennifer?
