If you are afraid, get your husband's vasectomy operation, it is very simple & minor surgery, or use some conventional method.

I don't blame you but a tubal is pretty simple. They make a small incision (i had 1 stitch) in your belly button and 2 more on your side about the same size. It's daysurgery so you get to go home. The worst part is the next couple of days you may have pain in your chest and shoulders because they use gas (that's what one of the holes is for) to expand your belly so they have room to work. Tylenol takes the pain away. I had my tubal when I was 28 and have never regretted it. Good luck.

All right. Well there are many factors to consider here. The first is do you and your spouse agree to the procedure. The second is, do you plan on maintaining a healthy sex life post-op. Third, are you willing to commit to a procedure of that magnitude. If so, the actual procedure, although unpleasant and invasive as it might seem, is relatively simple and can truly alter your life...I would recommend not only discussing it with your family but discussing it with your Ob/Gyn you can't really do any wrong in discussing the matter. Best of luck.

i had one done after my second child they will put you to sleep and depending on your dr they will tie the tubes and cut them or clamp them and cut nothing ( is what i had) the whole thing takes 1/2 hour and you'll be in recovery before you know it. the dr makes a slit in your belly button to preform this they wont want you to lifet anything or do housework that week you may want some overnight help or if your married your hubby to take off a few days of work the first 24 hours is usually bed rest

Tubal ligation, or getting your tubes tied, offers a permanent birth-control solution. See if it's the right choice for you, and what it entails, at iVillage.com. They have tons of articles about the process, what to expect, and comments from women who have undergone the procedure. hope this helps!

Most women find it's harder to keep off weight after this proceedure...some have an issue with PCO, (poly cystic ovaries).

The benifit tho, is not having to worry about birth control (or so some women think) - some find they end up having to take birth control after the proceedure because of the PCO it can cause and that is how they treat this disorder.

good luck.

i am 32 also and had it done after the birth of my 3rd child,if you have it done when you are not post pregnancy it is a little more invasive. But to warn you, i am having issues with my hormones now.look up post tubal ligation syndrome before you do anything, and talk with you doctor.

Tubals are not too big a deal but it's a much easier task for your husband to get snipped.

I had one done at 32. Afterwords i bled and cramped more with my periods, but it was better than having another child that i could not afford.
