Well if you are talking about before you start your period what you can do is wear a thin pantiliner just in case evryday and when you do get your period wear a thicker pad or wear a tampon;;If you are at school or at a job where you sit sll day long where a night pad so it is longer and easier to manage. If you are on sports or a fast moving job use thick pads with wings or a tampon

What are you using a tampon or a pad well if a pad change every time you go to the bathroom and fo tampon change it every eight hours most likely when you go to the bathroom too and before you go to sleep change pads or whatever your using if you just started your period don't use a tampon.Don't wear white pants either i hope i helped Good luck

Make sure the pantiliner you are wearing is the proper one for the flow. Make sure to check it and change it when necessary.
And don't wear white panties when you have your period.
No foolproof way...those are just some hints. You could always wear a tampon as well as a pantiliner for double protection.

you can try pads, tampons, or panty liners, but sometimes you're just going to have to accept getting menstrual blood on your panties. That's why most of us have a few pairs of 'period panties;' the frayed, nasty granny-panties that won't be made much worse by a few extra stains. use to pads with wings fixed 1 towards front and other towards back where a part from the one at the back is under a part from that to the front

If you wear a tampon, wear a pad, too during your heaviest flow days. That and changing your tampon and pad frequently.
