Get a printer switching /sharing device - reasonably cheap to buy, it's more expensive for the automatic ones however, otherwise you have to manually select which PC is to get access to the thing!
It'll have two parallel port (or USB) PC inputs and one parallel (or usb) output to the printer

If these computers are networked, share the printer on one computer, and then attempt to install the printer on the other system. If the computers are not going to be networked, consider getting an A/B switch unit with LPT connectors, allowing both of the computers to be directly connected.
If you choose the sharing option, be aware that the computer that the printer is physically hooked up to needs to be on at the time of printing.
If this does not work for you, you can get a print server and set that up on your network. Then as long as the router and the printer are on, a computer will be able to access it by way of the network.

You have to setup a home network. I am assuming you can share the same Internet connection. If so then you are halfway there.
Step one. Make sure you are on the same Workgroup:
Right Mouse click on My Computer and go to Properties. Then computer name. Do this on both computers there should be a section that says workgroup name. Make sure they match. (This is not necessary, but will allow you to share files alot easier as well as printers)
Share printers.:
Now go to the printe that you want to share, and right mouse click on it. Go to Sharing. Select share this printer. Choose a simple share name. If you have older computers like windows 98, they will have a hardtime finding hard names Keep symbols and spaces out of the name.
Go on the other computer, go to start --> Run and type
\\\ and hit enter. If all is right in the world, it should pick up the printer and start installing it.

A lot depends on the printer. The simplest solution - If the printer has both parallel and USB, you can hook up one computer on each port. Another approach would be to network them, by USB or Ethernet; and the worst solution would be an A/B Parallel switch. A/B switches if not properly used can damage the printer or computer parallel port. If you don't believe that try to get warranty repair out of HP if they find you using one.

hook up the printer to your "main" computer, then enable printer sharing on it by right clicking on the printer(start > control panel> printer) and then you need to make sure your second computer is "networked" to the first computer as well, via a router- you can do this by having ethernet cables between those two-
Then try "add printer" and then click on the network folder, where your main computer name should show up and then click that printer. It will then install drivers your 2nd computer needs.
Good luck.

I'm going to assume you have fast internet speed and your computers can both access the internet. You need to:
1) Create a home network (XP Start/Help and Support will help you)
2) Make sure that both machines can "see each other " by using My Network Places.
3) Once #1 and #2 are done, you go to your main computer and "SHARE" the printer.
If you don't have a home network, you will have to connect the computers directly (CAT5 cable or appropriate USB) - together or use a hub.
