I plan on seeing it. Oliver Stone and one of the real men from the movie (Nick's character, I think) addressed the issue of whether it was too soon or a necessary story at a Q&A session. The man felt his story needed to be told, and he wanted it told when he was still alive so that he could make sure it was being told accurately. It's a movie about hope coming from a tragedy, which is something that should be therapeutic, not exploitative. I also think it's stupid to say we shouldn't watch it because it's too painful. That's exactly why we should. I hate to be cliched, but history repeats itself if not remembered for what it was. Would writing an essay on 9/11 be okay? Film is just one of many genres in which artists express themselves, preserve history, and tell stories. If it seems too real, that's because it WAS real. It's important for us to remember what happened and to always feel pain and sorrow when thinking about it. Not all movies are meant to be an escape from reality. Some are made to reflect reality.

I'm going to see it.I bet alot of the people here have watched the Titanic and thought that was great or even dare i say the Passion of the Christ. If you don't experience the pain then you will never move on. Also this story is about a side event that ocurred so its very inspiring. Maybe these people should stop watching the news too if they don't want to see tradgedies. The world is not at peace we must learn that. There is suppose to be a positive attitude in the movie not a negative one.

I'll probably see. I think people need to get over all the stuff about it exploiting a tragedy and all that crap. These are the same people who think Schindler's List is an awesome movie even though that exploits a tragedy too. The only reason they aren't complaining about that is because they didn't witness that crap happening. Now that there's a movie about our situation, they aren't okay with it. It's been 5 years and I think that's more than enough time to release a film...which is a tribute more than anything. Oliver Stone could have gone his normal route for conspiracy theories, but he didn't. This is a straight out tribute movie.

No way am I going to see that! I don't really support those kinds of movies- about 9/11 and everything. They are making money off a tradegy. Plus, why would someone want to go see it? It was sad enough watching it from your TV 5 years ago and now they want us to relive that?

Haven't seen it and never will. Like Blender magazine just recently said in their recent issue: It was worse the first time around and we don't need to relive it again.

No, maybe I'll rent the DVD. But I think this movie's WRONG. They should have waited maybe 50 years.
