this is a derogatory term, obviously. And someone thinks you are an arab....to the person whose father calls the taxi drivers this in Manhattan...they are probably Sikh and therefore do not warrant, not that anyone does, this type of slur. Tell him to ride a bike or walk, rather than take rides from someone he clearly has a hatred for.

A sand-****** is what people call middle eastern people. It simply means that most of the middle east's land mass is made of sand, hence the sand part of the first word. Then the word ****** is always a derogatory word looked at to degrade and demoralize a person. So a sand ****** is simply put bigotry.

It's the derogatory term for Arabs/ Middle Eastern people. Just like calling a black a N*gger, only they aren't black and since most Mid. Eastern people come from desert countries, they put sand in front of it. It's not nice at all.

The "N" word is a highly derogatory term for a black person in the USA. Someone calling you a sand "N" is insulting you as the Arabic equivalent of a black person, with the notion that either is equally bad.

Anyone who judges another simply by their ethnicity is a person who's opinion is unimportant.

This term is derogatory slang for someone from the Middle East. I don't use it and I would advise YOU not to use it. Unfortunately, my dad thinks it's funny and I have told him NOT to use it in my presence (and he's respectful enough not to....most of the time). Dad once referred to Abraham (from the Bible) as a "sand ******," which I didn't like (even though Dad is a Christian like me).
